Hail to the… Redskins?
As a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, working on the Washington Redskins account was both thrilling and extremely bittersweet. Who doesn’t want to work on an NFL team? But did it have to be my team’s rival? I guess it did.
For several years, I was the Copy Director and then Creative Director on the Redskins account. We did everything from designing the season tickets to creating the campaigns to sell those tickets.
I wish I could say there was a unifying theme to the work we did or some great insight we tapped into to create compelling creative, but really we spent most of our time catering to the owner’s whims. It was challenging. Burnout rate on the account was extremely high, but we still managed to squeak out some decent creative work.
